MISSION
MISSION
As our community of Comal County and the greater New Braunfels area continues to grow and market housing costs skyrocket, more individuals and families struggle to make ends meet and have a safe place to sleep at night. When factors such as health conditions, a limited income, unreliable transportation, past trauma, or mental illness are also present, anyone may reach a tipping point that leads to unstable housing situations, or even homelessness.
We are committed to taking strategic steps to address both urgent housing crises as well as ensuring that long-term affordable housing options are available at every income level.
This is why we do what we do. We are saving lives and making our community stronger.
what we’ve accomplished
- Partnered with San Antonio Food Bank to establish a permanent location for the New Braunfels Food Bank
- Set the vision and initial design of the Appleseed Apartments, an affordable housing community serving families that are experiencing poverty, food insecurity, and housing challenges, which will be operated by the New Braunfels Food Bank
- Spearheaded a comprehensive intake process that helps connect individuals or families to community resources and housing opportunities in Comal County and the greater New Braunfels area to ensure individuals and families experience a streamlined and supportive process toward achieving housing prioritization and housing stability
We will continue to act as a catalyst toward improving and expanding affordable housing opportunities that more effectively assure a robust housing spectrum that meets the needs of a growing community and ensures housing opportunities exist at all income levels. Our role includes partnering with community members, non-profit agencies, real estate developers, businesses, local government, and faith-based communities to plan, acquire, build, and operate affordable workforce housing that supports the vibrant economic growth of our community.
NB Housing Partners is made up of neighbors who believe there is no price on human dignity and the
security of having a place to call home. Everything we do is driven by that certainty. We are funded by
governmental grants and charitable donations from citizens, businesses, and other civic organizations.
